Who We Are
FAT Projects is a Singapore headquartered investment and venture studio established in 2015 with growth capital deployed across a portfolio of assets in financial services/fintech, food tech & hospitality, e-commerce, education & services.
Our mission is to build and accelerate entrepreneurial projects with fun, talented, resilient, and ethically committed people; with a laser focus on unlocking shareholder value.
The company was co-founded by two partners who bring a nexus between 20 years of high end global banking and a 20 year career built on entrepreneurialism. These polarising skill sets come together to provide a very unique approach when creating new projects in-house or accelerating existing projects we join.
We have two parts to our studio. Firstly, we love building start-ups. Fat Projects takes a hands-on approach to its own ventures through deployment of its own capital, identifying co-founders and assisting with strategy, technology and further capital initiatives along the way. Secondly, we love accelerating emerging growth companies who are looking to scale and solve big problems through a tech-enabled and entrepreneurial approach

What is a Project?
All the companies we build or accelerate are Projects. A Project is either a start-up that we co-found or an equity position in an emerging growth company. Either way, it must always share the following characteristics:
Solving real problems in Southeast Asia (first) and beyond
Technology enabled venture in an industry we are passionate about
The leadership team must be passionate and aligned with the FAT Projects Blueprint of unlocking shareholder value

What is the FAT Projects Blueprint?
FAT Projects applies its proprietary methodology when assessing a Project’s viability. We call it the ‘FAT Projects Blueprint’. There are many things that go into each project, but in summary it can be described as having a clear and achievable liquidity event within 12 months from the point of our involvement. We bring our consortium of partners across the globe that are excellent problem solvers, thought leaders and strategic thinkers. We provide companies access to our network of technologists, financial institutions, investors and subject matter experts to achieve scale and unlock shareholder value. We then work backwards with the Project’s leadership team to ensure we have the following things in place:

Quality board of directors and advisory board members
Aligned capital structure
Appointment and retention of key staff
Strong strategic plan centred around Fast, Agile and Transformative execution

An experienced and globally recognized banking executive having held senior positions with HSBC Group and Bank of America Merrill Lynch across Sydney, Singapore and the United States. Board Advisor to Small/Mid Cap firms in Southeast Asia and Australia on Corporate Finance and M&A in industries including technology, telecommunications, media, energy and infrastructure. Currently residing in the Northern Beaches of Sydney.

Tristan Lo
Co-founder and Managing Partner
Lifelong entrepreneur and investor who has successfully founded and had exits across the hospitality, education, e-commerce and fintech industries. Has also been retained by some of Asia’s largest blue chip public companies including PCCW and JD.ID to help them scale their e-commerce operations. Originally from Sydney Australia, currently residing in Sentosa Island, Singapore.
